Mechanical Engineering-Programme Outcomes
(Department of Mechanical Engineering under MITPUNE is now MIT-WPU School of Mechanical Engineering)


Programme Outcomes of Mechanical Engineering programme (B.E. Mechanical Engineering) are as follows:
After successful completion of programme, graduates will be able to

  1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and Mechanical Engineering to complex engineering problems.
  2. Identify, formulate, and analyse complex engineering problems by applying basic principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and mechanical engineering science.
  3. Design solutions for mechanical engineering problems and contribute to the design of system, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for safety, cultural, societal and envirnomental considerations.
  4. Locate, search and select relevant data from codes and literature, carry out systematic literature survey, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Select and apply appropiate techniques, resourses and modern engineering tools like different CAD, CAM and CAE softwares to mechanical engineering activities at large.
  6. Demonstrate  understanding of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineeing practice.
  7. Understand relevance of global, economic, environmental and sustainability issues and follow green engineering practices during professional career.
  8. Follow professional ethics and norms of engineering practice.
  9. Work as an individual and as a team member/ leader in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  10. Communicate effectively with engineering community and with the society at large, by written and oral means.
  11. Demonstrate understanding of engineering and management principles and apply them in  professional career.
  12. Recognize the need for and have an ability to engage in independent and life long learning.
