Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
(Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering under MITPUNE is now MIT-WPU School of Electronics & Communication Engineering)

E&TC graduates find wide opportunities in today's growing communications era. This course has been designed by the University of Pune in consultation with senior industrialists in the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering field. The career paths followed are diverse ranging from electronic product design to heavy electrical plant maintenance, from research to production, from technical focus to customer focus.

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering has been accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation). It offers a Post Graduate program leading to a Master of Engineering in Electronics-Digital Systems and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication (E & TC) Engineering. The department has a sanctioned intake of 120 students for the under graduate course and 18 students for the post graduation course.
The student body 'Association of Electronics Engineering Students' (AES) has been actively involved in several technical activities and project competitions like IntechXication. IETE Students Forum is involved in arranging the guest lectures by eminent speakers, industrialists and alumni. A cultural event called MERC- is organized by E&TC students every year. These activities helps in building personality of students.

The research activities in the department are supported with MODROB (AICTE Sponsored Scheme for Modernization & Removal of Obsolescence in Technical Education) and BCUD, (Board for College & University Development, University of Pune) grants. In addition, the faculty members undertake sponsored research projects from the industry.

A platform for the students and staff to visit industries located not only in and around Pune but also at places like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Thiruanantpuram, Delhi, Ahemdabad, Jaipur, Kapurthala and Pilani is also provided.

Degrees offered- Affiliated to the University of Pune

B.E. (E&TC Engineering), four years after 10+2
M.E. (Electronics- Digital Systems), two years after BE or B.Tech

Department has active support for student's robotics activity. Students have shown great awareness and passion for developing robotic applications for their project work and robotic competitions.
Robocon is one of the national level competitions where our students have shown consistent performance.
In 2010 MIT Tech Team won Against 40 Indian Teams including all the IITs and made it to the International.
In 2011 Semi-finalists at the nationals
In 2012 Champions in National ABU Robocon India having 67 participants Won the National ABU Robocon - India Won the 'Bala Krishna Memorial Award'. Highest aggregate score in the tournament Highest score in a single match Our machines won the 'Fastest Theme Completion Award' The machines were finalized after developing and testing 6 working prototypes
Activities in the Electronics Engg. Discipline for Robocon Selection of components Component procurement through national (Mumbai/Pune/Delhi/Nashik) as well as Foreign (U.S.A./Hong Kong/Thailand) sources Prototyping and testing of the following: Microcontroller circuit designs Sensor interfacing circuit designs Motor driving circuit designs Battery charging circuit designs Integration of the above components into a single, functional unit Clean and professional wiring on the machines Keeping tested components ready in spare
