Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES):


Established in - ACES is an “ Association of Computer Engineering Students of MIT, Pune ”, run by the Computer Engineering Department of Maharashtra Institute of Technology established in the academic year 1985-86.
The purpose - of this association is to organize various technical activities and motivate / encourage our students to take part in extracurricular and co curricular activities for the benefit of students of our department.

MIT India ACM Student Chapter

About the ACM India Council:
The ACM India Council is an effort of ACM aimed at increasing the level and visibility of ACM activities across India. The ACM community in India is growing in membership, number of chapters, sponsored conferences and symposia.
The ACM India Council comprises a cross section of the computer science and information technology community committed to increasing the visibility and relevance of ACM in India. The council is focused on a wide range of ACM activities including:
  • Serving as a professional network for individuals who are involved with the science and technology of computing
  • Encouraging students to take an active interest in the emerging and exciting world of computing
  • Facilitating the organization of high-quality ACM conferences in India
  • Providing logistical support to grow more ACM professional and student chapters
  • Enhancing access to the ACM Digital Library and publications for ACM members in India
  • Increasing the participation of ACM members in India across all dimensions of ACM
Activities Conducted:
  • 5 days FDP on Design and Analysis of Algorithm for faculties from SSPU Pune

We have successfully organized an event as a part of Student Chapter of The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).We Conducted one social event at PMC school Name--" Pratibha Pawar Vidyamandir Mahavidyalaya", kothrud on 18th April 2015. Prof.V.S.Jagtap(Staff representative) and more than twenty ME students went there to teach and help the students of class 10th for the subject ICT (Computer Lab) assignments. They taught and demonstrated them assignments from class 10th syllabus, and gave them hands on experience on related assignments with our own laptops & internet facility. The school was very happy with the performance and help from our students. Prof. Vandana Jagtap and Prof. V.Y. Kulkarni (HOD Comp.Dept) has taken lots of efforts in organizing and making the event successful. Some of the event photographs are as below.

Computer Society of India (CSI):

Established in - Formed in 1965, the CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. Today, the CSI has 73 chapters all over India, 418 student branches, and more than 90000 members including India's most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians.
The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The CSI is also working closely with other industry associations, government bodies and academia to ensure that the benefits of IT advancement ultimately percolate down to every single citizen of India.
Every year an event called Technovision is organized through which the students get exposure to the current trends and technologies, in this event all academic toppers are felicitated.
The department of computer engineering run MIT-CSI student chapter since 2005. The department have total 190 student's member of CSI.
In 2014 it was awarded the Best Accredited Student Branch.
Activities - guest lectures, seminars, project competitions, paper presentations and inter collegiate technical events/ symposiums Technovision etc.

MIT Computer Users Group (MCUG):

It is group formed by students for the students. A simple idea of sharing the knowledge and learning simultaneously is the foundation base of MIT Computer Users Group. Increasing interaction between seniors and juniors is also one of the key objectives. Besides that MCUG tries to bridge the gap between the Industry and the students via various activities like workshops, seminars etc. It publishes a newsletter every semester.
